So you want to be a Yoga Teacher?

The benefits of yoga include increased flexibility and strength, stress reduction, improved circulation, increased focus on the present moment, body awareness, pain relief, and more. We sometimes arrive on the mat with the intention to reduce stress or stretch our body, yet yoga has so much more to offer our lives both on and off the yoga mat and a teacher-training program can enhance our individual practice as well as that of the students we teach.

This workshop is open to all individuals who may be interested in becoming a yoga instructor and for those who want to deepen their own practice. You will learn what is covered in a 200-hour Yoga School program and how to balance the rewards and challenges of teaching yoga. We'll also discuss the importance of skilled verbal cues and the safety of hands-on adjustments. As part of the workshop there will also be a yoga session that will include the practice of postures (Asana), Pranayama (breathing), and Meditation. We'll examine the physical practice, exploring alignment, anatomy, and modifications for various postures.  There will also be a discussion about intention and spirituality.
